Richard "Dick" Wallace Casper

Richard "Dick" Wallace Casper, age 77 of Mapleton, Utah, died March 27, 2005.

He was born January 1, 1928 in Heber, Utah to Wallace and Dora Danner Casper.

He married Myrna Marie Mayberry February 4, 1949 in Provo, Utah.

Dick was raised and attended schools in Heber City.

During his life, he performed the jobs of two men.

Holding a full time job at Geneva Steel for over 30 years while at the same time building and remodeling approximately 80 homes as a general contractor.

His building talent was extraordinary by performing all aspects of building, rarely using subcontractors.

He lovingly cared for his ailing wife for seven years until her death in 2003.

In his own illness of malignant melanoma, he showed courage and humor until the end, putting other's feelings and concerns first.

His family felt blessed to care for him in his home until God called him to heaven.

God, family and work were his life passions.

Dick and his family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support, and Sterling and Carol Ottesen for being his angels on earth.

Dick is survived by his children, Steven Casper of Garrison, UT, Jackie Schneider, Los Angeles, CA, Michael Casper, Provo, UT, Barry Casper, So. Lake Tahoe, CA, Tammy Plante, Nephi, UT, Danny Casper, Springville, UT, and Jared Casper, Provo; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters Joann Harding of Ogden, UT and Marva Hardy of Sandy, UT.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrna, and his daughters Colleen and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, UT.

Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday afternoon, one hour prior to services.

Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills.
