Husband of Rebekah. Father of Electa, Abner, Zelotes, Rebecca, Lucy, Ptolemy, Henry A., William F. and Timothy F. Abner arrived in Mendon, NY in 1801. Two years later he purchased 170 acres of land that earlier had been the site of the Seneca village of Totiakton. On the property was an Indian burial ground. The farm was passed down through the family until 1918. It was sold to a Louis Desman who passed it on to his son Dean Desman. In 1979 Dean had to sell the land to a real estate developer to settle his mother's estate. Large new homes were built on part of the original Totiakton site. Thirty nine acres were donated to the Mendon Foundation, which will forever protect the land from development.
