Joe Jones of 12215 Laurel Lane, Richardson, formerly of Honey Grove, died suddenly about 2:00 a.m. Monday February 16, 1981, at Richardson Medical Center.

Memorial services were scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 18th, at the First Christian Church of Honey Grove with the Rev. Edwin Gorom officiating. Interment was to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Honey Grove under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

He was born April 7, 1903, at Honey Grove, the son of Horace Polk Jones and Nannie Helen Wall Jones.

He was married at Honey Grove June 1, 1930 to Romi Self.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Community Christian Church at Richardson and for many years he was operator and manager of McLendon theaters in Dallas. Before moving to Dallas he also was operator and manager of a theater in Honey Grove for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Romi Jones of the home; three daughters, Olivia Ann Neeley of Honey Grove, Mona Rae Wilson of Fort Worth and Julia Jones of Dallas; one sister, Miss Ruth Jones of Honey Grove; five grandchildren, Bob Gauldin, Sydney Morriss, Ross Neeley, Kelly Wilson and Keith Wilson; six nieces and nephews.
