Army SPC Christopher Dickson Lusk, age 26, passed into the loving arms of our Lord February 26, 2009 in Killeen, Texas. Chris was a special blessing to his parents, Grace and Clark Lusk of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and his brother Sheppard, of Boise, Idaho. Born just after their Thanksgiving dinner on November 25, 1982, he came home to his adopted family two days later. He grew up in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from Wasatch Academy, Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Army, served two tours of duty in Iraq and was at the end of his enlistment at his untimely death. Chris had a great passion and gift for all things computer and loved setting up networks and systems. He read computer manuals like novels and usually won at computer games. He will be remembered for his kind and sensitive heart, big grin, and loping gait. His family and friends will very much miss those wonderful moments when he chose to talk about his deepest thoughts and feelings. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Sutherland of Virginia Beach, VA. He leaves behind his anguished parents and brother, and a sister-in-law Kelly; uncles and aunts, Larry and Vicky Lusk of Tulsa, OK, Melody and Bruce Atteberry of Goldby, OK, Joy Rearden of Texas, Dickson Schaefer of Jackson Hole, WY and Virginia Beach, VA, and Anne Cooke of Aspen, CO; first cousins, Donnie, Michael, Berrie, Mike, Max, Auburn and Alyssa; friends at home and his buddies in the Army. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d'Alene with Yates Funeral Home in care of the arrangements. The family prefers memorial donations to SPAN Idaho (Suicide Prevention Action Network of Idaho), 1120 Ironwood Drive, Suite #101, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.
