This beautiful woman, my MOTHER, was called by her middle name, Ruth. She was born the 5th child in a family of 11 children to Lucille and Edward Sutton. In March, 1942, she married C.J. Robinson who was to be her lifelong mate. They were married 51 years, ending with C.J. going to heaven in 1993. They had 4 daughters; Julia (Howe), Irene (Shriver), Lucille (Prewitt) Robinson, and Martie Martin, and adopted a son, John Robinson, and a adopted daughter, Janette (Moore). They were loving foster parents to many children over many years. Ruth was a giving, generous Christian woman who worked endlessly in the church for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing gospel hymns and would sing church solos. (I picture her singing in Heaven now!) She made a cassette tape of her singing several songs, which is now one of my most prized possessions. She was very musical; playing the guitar and piano. She was a wonderful cook and baker, owning her own Bakery, Fun Kitchen, for many years. Her family has great memories of the wonderful, delicious meals she loving made for them. Although holidays were special occasions for these dinners, she loved to cook for any occasion and published more than one cookbook.

She leaves a loving legacy of 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Ruth left this earth for heaven after suffering from Alzheimer's for 10 years. The nurses who attended to her said she always had a smile for them. She is so GREATLY missed.

NOTE: Her maiden name, Pauley, was the legal name of her father, Edward, who had changed his name when he moved to Texas but was back in Missouri visiting when Ruth was born and was forced to give that name at the hospital when she was born. She was raised in Texas in a children's home where she was taken at age 9 due to abuse. Upon reaching the age to be able to leave the home, she moved to southern Missouri in 1942 where she met C.J. at a church box supper. They married after only two weeks of "courting"! Nine months to the day of their marriage their first child was born.
