Esther Marie Barlow Broyles, 85, of Plainfield, passed away October 27, 2005. She was born July 30, 1920 to the late Albert and Nina Marie (Hollingsworth) Barlow in Plainfield, Indiana. She was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, charter member of the Homemakers Club,and past president of the the Womens Missionary Society and the Plainfield Rebekah Lodge. Esther held various offices in the Hendricks County and District Democratic Party including president of the State Democratic Womens Club. She was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash. She is survived by her husband, Glen M. Broyles; four sons (and wives), James G. (Anita E.) Broyles, John C. (Anita G.) Broyles, Jerry L. (Sandra) Broyles, Joseph A. (Lynn) Broyles; a daughter, Joyce A. Scott; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mitchell Scott. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday October 31, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, where friends may call at the church from 2-6:00 p.m. Sunday October 30, and one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial is in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund. Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
