SUDDEN DEATH OF ONE OF HOUSTON SCHOOL BOYS
Wendell Elbert Brown was born January 6, 1926, and departed this life November 12, 1938, age 12 years, 10 months, and 6 days.
Wendell was the son of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Pearl Brown, of Houston, Missouri. Wendell had never been strong; he had leakage of the heart all his life and of late it grew worse. He was a boy who had many friends, both young and old. He learned fast in school and had many friends there, and will be greatly missed in his class. He attended services at the Baptist church and was a member of the R.A. group, and those who were in charge of that work say that it was a pleasure to work with him.
We all who knew Wendell will miss him very much, but those of the home will miss him most.
Those who survive him are his Father and Mother, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown, of Houston; three sisters, Hazel, Arlene, and Roberta Jane; two grandmothers and a host of other relatives and friends. One sister, Frieda Virginia, died in infancy.
May the Lord's sustaining Grace be with the family is our prayer.
Funeral services were held at Central Baptist last Sunday afternoon, Rev. J.R. Halbrook conducting the funeral service.
This is a great burden of sorrow to these fond parents in the loss of their only son, a bright and lovable little fellow just growing from boyhood to youth, a comfort and a help to his parents. In their broken-hearted sorrow, the parents and the sisters have the earnest and sincere sympathy of many, many friends. The Herald joins with these sympathizing friends.
