Hafenstein - Hartl
Nuptial vows were exchanged at nine o'clock Wednesday morning, June 19, in the parsonage at St. Peter's Church by Miss Agnes Clara Hartl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Hartl, 816 South Spring St., and Lester Harold Hafenstein, son of Mrs. Herman Hafenstein, 408 West Burnett Street. Immediate relatives witnessed the ceremony which was read by the Reverend Charles Kleefisch.
The molded satin bodice of Anges' bridal gown featured a lace yoke with a sweetheart neckline, long, fitted sleeves extending in points over the wrist and a peplum. It closed in the back with miniature self-covered buttons and topped a full net-over-satin skirt, en train. A lace-edged fingertip veil of illusion caught to a crown of pearlized orange blossoms completed the details of her costume. She carried a shower bouquet of gardenias surrounded by white carnations and white larkspur.
Miss Jeanne Genrich, the maid of honor, was seen in a white eyelet bodice fashioned with butterfly sleeves atop a duble net skirt of pink and white, and the bridesmaid, Betty Kasper, a cousin of the bride, chose a frock similiar in style with a white lace bodice and double skirt of blue and white. Long formal gloves and bouquets of pink carnations, white babiesbreath and larkspur completed their ensembles.
Mr. George Lischka, a cousin of the bride, was the best man and Mr. Andrew Parzy, attendant.
The groom's mother was dressed in green flowered silk with black accessories, and Mrs. Hartl witnessed her daugther's wedding in navy with white accessories.
The home of bride was decorated with streamers of pink, white and blue and baskets of flowers of corresponding colors for the reception which took place at one-thirty followed by a dinner served to thirty-five guest. Later, a five-thirty dinner was served to approximately eighty guest. Immediately after the wedding dance, which was held at the Community building in Fox Lake, the bridal couple left on a ten days' honeymoon. On their return, they will reside at 408 1/2 West Burnett street, Beaver Dam. The groom is employed at the Malleable Iron Range Company.
Out of town guest included Mr. and Mrs. Albert Diest and Ora of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. August Hafenstein of Columbus, Mrs. Albert Hafenstein and Mrs. Morris Bahr of Fox Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schultz of Rosendale and Mr. and Mrs. Alois Hartl of Mayville.

Mrs. Hafenstein was born on May 8, 1924, in the Town of Beaver Dam, the daughter of Michael and Clara (Neis) Hartl. She was married to Lester H. Hafenstein in Beaver Dam on June 19, 1946. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women of St. Peter's Society. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Margaret Cessna, Beaver Dam; two sons, Raymond (Sue) Hafenstein, Beaver Dam; Jim (Bernie) Hafenstein, Route 2, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Rosemary) Hartl, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Ann Biel and Francis (Loren) Radke, Beaver Dam. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Patricia.
