Last Saturday evening about dusk aviator Rushenburg and A. F. Alden, better known to his friends as "Tex" Alden, landed on the local flying field after a short trip in the Rudd biplane. The engine of the ship was still running when Tex alighted from the cockpit and walked across the lower wing. In some way he was struck by the revolving propeller, his skull fractured in two places and his arm broken. He was immediately rushed to a physician where all possible to save his life was done. He lived through the night and in a faint hope that he might survive, was taken to Mobridge hospital where he passed away on Monday.

Arthur Freeman Alden was born at Millard, S.D., on November 23rd, 1892. He lived at that place and at Faulkton S.D., until he came to Perkins County with his parents in 1910. He was united in marriage on February 7th, 1916, to Miss Christine Louise Hein. To this union was born a son, Leonard Arthur. Mr. Alden has been employed as mechanic and has been making flights with the Rudd plane for the past three months.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and son; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Alden of Faith; his brother, Jack of Faith; his sister, Mrs. C. E. Stoddard of Sioux Falls, and his aged grandmother Eliza Spencer of Faulkton.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the M.E. Church and interment will be made in Faith cemetery.

The entire community joins in extending deepest sympathy to the grief stricken relatives.
