E. J. Seay of Oak Level, died Tuesday night at his home, aged 88 years.
Mr. Seay was one of the old and respected residents of Oak Level, having resided at the place a number of years.
He served with distinction for over two years in the Confederate Army and was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Mrs. R. J. Miles, Mrs. L. M. West, John Irvin, Peter and Hart, Oak Level, and John of Danville.
He was an uncle of Mrs. George W. Wagoner of Martinsville.
Funeral services were held from the home Thursday afternoon, conducted by Elder D. P. Helms. Interment was in the family cemetery nearby.
