MABLETON, Ga. - Marjorie Ferguson Hyde, 86, formerly of Gastonia, died March 2, 2009, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice House in Austell, Ga.

She was a native of Union County, Miss., daughter of the late Sam and Dannye McCollum Ferguson and wife of the late James W. Hyde, who died five years ago also on March 2.

Mrs. Hyde was a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Gastonia, where she worked for ten years. She was very active in church activities and a member of the Clean City Committee. She also volunteered with Hospice for many years.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Hyde and wife Laurie of Mableton, Ga., David Hyde of Raleigh; sister, Mary Lou Young of Nashville, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Shawn Griffith officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service Friday.

Inurnment will follow in Evergreen "A Quiet Place", Belmont.
