Emma Pearl Newton, 90, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at a local hospital after a short illness.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3200 Denton Highway, Haltom City. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pastors Fund at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas 76117.
Mrs. Newton was born May 5, 1918, in Lewisville and had been a resident of North Richland Hills for 20 years. She was married July 14, 1940, in Lewisville to Austin Newton. She taught in May, Bangs and Monahans. She was a retired teacher and a member of Modern Housewives, Fort Worth Porcelain Arts Club, Fort Worth China Decorators Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, retired Delta Kappa Gamma, Birdville Association of Retired School Personnel, Eastern Star and Upper Room Sunday School Class, St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Survivors: Daughter, Elaine Newton of North Richland Hills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
