James S. Godin, 80, of Godin Dr., Boswell, died Aug. 5, 2001 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville.
Born Oct. 26, 1920 in Clearfield County, son of
Emmanuell and Lea Diven (Dersin) Godin. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Harold, Joseph, and Emil, sisters: Marie Brown, Kathryn Weaver, Dorothy Wilks, and Alice Winter. Survived by his wife of 53 years the former Gladys Renninger, and these children: Bonita married to Ronald Hershey, Willow Street; Judith married to Thomas Gelpi, Fort Worth, Texas; Sandra married to Dr. Gary Elliott, Mountain Home, Texas; Rev. Dennis G. married to former Sandra Miller, Jennerstown; James E. married to former Phyllis Roger, Windber; and David E. married to former Kimberly Ream, Boswell. Eighteen grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Brother of Samuel Goden, Boswell and Deveize Fagley, Upland, Calif.
World War II Army Air Corps Veteran having served in the China Burma India Theatre. Retired owner of Godin and Goden Coal Co., Boswell. Member of Acosta Church of God, and Operating Engineers Local 66.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Acosta Church of God.
Rev. Glen Gattenby, Rev. Fred Behers and Rev. Robert McCall officiating.
Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, 400 Lurray Ave., Johnstown, Pa.
