Deceased was a daughter of Oliver and Jerusha (Gibson) Davis, who migrated from Vermont and settled in Florence in its early days. There the subject of this sketch was born. At the time of her death she was precisely 75 years, 4 months and 15 days old. Fifty seven years ago last May she became the wife of Mr. Van Buren, and they have ever since lived in this town. Few couples have ever enjoyed a longer or more happy wedded life than they. Deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Westdale. Her patience, her gentle and loving nature, will ever be remembered by all who knew her, and in the family circle, where her true worth and devotion are best known, the bereaved ones have much sympathy.
Besides the aged husband three sons Eugene, Alonzo and William, all of Camden, survive. Of her father's family of twelve children, a sister, Mrs. Almira Baker of Topeka, Kan., is the last survivor.
The funeral will be held at one o'clock Friday afternoon at the family residence. Interment is to be made in Forest Park Cemetery.
