LEROY HOPKINS CHASE, 70, a former Colorado Springs resident, died March 19, 1994, in Barefoot Bay, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Barefoot Bay. A graveside service was held Friday in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Mr. Chase was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Spring Valley, N.Y. He had lived in Barefoot Bay for six years, moving there from Colorado Springs.

He was married to Catherine Schullion, who is deceased.

He is survived by five sisters, Matilda Whalen, Margaret Svitanek and Bertha Osborne, all of New York, Barbara Ross and Janet Conjura, of Barefoot Bay; and two brothers, Richard of New York and Donald of Barefoot Bay.

Mr. Chase was a photographer and silversmith who made jewelry. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs as well as Concordia Lutheran Church in Barefoot Bay.

He served in the military during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Ave., Colorado Springs 80909.
