She was born in Oxford the daughter of the late Tracy and Bonnie (Thurber) Wright. On June 22, 1946 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Oxford she married Douglas Loughren, who passed away on Oct. 16, 1998.
Her sister, Wanda Wright predeceased her.
Betty Jean graduated from Oxford Academy and Central High School in 1944 and attended Keuka College for nursing. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Oxford. She will be long remembered for her Cider Mill Antiques Shop and Millbrook Flowers. She was very active with her children, including hosting a pig roast for the football team following their undefeated season in 1963.
Interment will be in Warn Ten Broeck Cemetery, Oxford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chenango County or the Chenango County SPCA.
