CHESTER - Mr. Michael "Mickey" Dewitt Mangrum, 53, passed away Sunday March 1, 2009, at his home.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Mangrum was the son of the late Dewitt Mangrum and Dolly Whisenant Mangrum.

Mickey was an avid farmer and hunter from the age of eight and was the founder of M & M Hunt Club and M & M Deer Processing. He was a member of S.C. Whitetail program and was a certified welder with PPM.

Surviving are his wife, Vickie Louise Mangrum of the home; two brothers, Bobby Mangrum of Rock Hill and Johnny Mangrum of Clearwater, Fla.; his sister, Debbie Mangrum Roberts of Rock Hill; and his favorite dog, Spike; his stepfather, Bennie Starnes of Rock Hill; and stepson, Jamie English of Rock Hill.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Sturgis officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
