Fern O. Prescott, age 79, passed away Monday, January 3, 2000 in Provo, Utah.

Born October 1, 1920 in Daniel, Utah the daughter of James William and Ina McDonald Orgill.

She grew up in Heber Valley, graduating from Wasatch High School.

She married Darrell "Joe" Prescott June 24, 1939, in Coalville, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Fern was an active member of the LDS church serving in many capacities of the various organizations. She loved to make handcrafts and made afghans for all of her grandchildren.

She had an uncanny ability to make people laugh. She could take a stern situation, apply a little humor, and lighten everyone's hearts. She enjoyed giving service to her family and friends and spent many hours assisting some of the older widows in their homes in Heber City.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Darrell Prescott June 1, 1995; both parents; daughter, Darlene Boyd; grandson, Bruce Durrant; two brothers, Curtis and Bernell Orgill; and sister, Ora Higginbotham.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Durrant, and Lavern Prescott; four brothers, James Boyd (Betty), Merrill (Frieda, LaRay (Colleen), and Clive J. (VaLois) Orgill; three sisters, Wanda (Veral) Mair, Betty (William L.) Woodall, and Maurine George; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
