Funeral for Valerie Sue Holmes, 50, of Alabaster will be today, March 4, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Falkville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Hunter and David Currie officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Holmes, who died Monday, March 2, 2009, at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home, was born Nov. 21, 1958, in Mobile to Paul William Holmes and Jane Brown Holmes. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandparents, George and Cora Lee Holmes, Cleveland Brown and Elsie Brown and Nell Brown.
Survivors include her sister, Vicki D. Price of Montevallo; special sisters, Wendi C. Jones of Montevallo and Mary Dubose of Santa Fe, N.M.; brother-in-law, Tony Price; and nieces, Kelly L. Price and Kayla Rose Price, both of Montevallo.
Pallbearers will be family members.
