Freddie L. Butler, 88, of Berkeley Heights, formerly of Linden and Elizabeth, died on Feb. 28, 2009, in Summit.
Mr. Butler was employed as a pipe fitter at Singer Manufacturing Company in Elizabeth for 45 years before he retired in 1985. He was a self-employed plumber in the Union County area for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Linden.
Surviving are his wife, Dollie M. Butler; three sons, Julius, Stanford (Audrey) and Fred Butler (Joyce); six daughters, Freddie Mae Butler, Gloria Birchette-Richmond (Talton), Patricia Butler, Wanda King, Dollie Hamlin and Robin Archie, N.J.; one brother-in-law, William Jackson; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
