TELITHA EMELINE "EMMA" was the daughter of Edward Hogan and Judith "Sudy" (Brayboy) Hogan. She married Robert P. Chambers on January 23, 1851, in Stewart County, Tennessee.

Emma and Robert were the parents of ten children--Henry Earl, Mary Ann, Mattie, Missouri, William, George, Bennie, Josie, Florance, and James.

The following obituary was found in the CARROLL COUNTY DEMOCRAT newspaper, dated October 12, 1900: "Mrs. Chambers, wife of R. P. Chambers, of Crider, died yesterday morning at 7 o'clock of pneumonia, after an illness of one week. Mrs. Chambers was 68 years old, a member of the Baptist church and had been for many years, and was highly esteemed for her many womanly qualities and Christian virtues. She is the mother of G. W. and B. T. Chambers, of our town, and leaves three other children besides these, and a host of friends to mourn her death. The burial will occur today at the Hampton graveyard. The community sympathizes with the bereaved family in their sad affliction."
