CHESAPEAKE, VA - Bryan L. Daughtrey, 66, departed this earth as a result of a stroke on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. A native of Norfolk, he resided in Chesapeake for 34 years. Bryan was an employee of Verizon Communications and had been retired for the past four years. Bryan was the son of Lucille Daughtrey of Norfolk and the late Jesse Daughtrey. Including his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Linda M. Daughtrey; a son, Allan R. Daughtrey; two daughters, Dawn Travers and husband Tim and Kelly Meadows and husband Scott; five grandchildren, Jack and Lee of Chesapeake, Jesse and Bryan of Ruckersville, VA and Amber Archie and husband Spc. Justin Archie of Grafen Wohr, Germany; a great-granddaughter, Trishelle Marie; a sister, Carolyn Clem and husband Dave and a niece and nephew, Georgia and Joe, all of Livermore, IA as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law and their families, who will miss him greatly.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Chaplain Curtis Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
