Ervin was the son of David and Clara (Bergman) Robinson. He served in the US Navy. He married Leona Stein on February 4, 1928. They had two sons, David J. who died in infancy, and Donald b. 1929. "Ervie" worked for Kimberly-Clark for 39 years. He belonged to St Paul Catholic Church and to the Combined Locks Golden Agers.
