Laura M. Butzien, 74, White Bird - Laura May Butzien, 74, a White Bird resident for 48 years, died Thursday morning at Syringa General Hospital at Grangeville of a cerabral hemorhage.
She was born May 29, 1906, at Moscow and attended school at Lapwai. She married Clyde Goble in 1923. That marriage ended in divorce in 1935. She then married Lloyd Butzien April 20, 1946 at Grangeville. Butzien died last year.
She had lived in Wyoming for 10 years prior to moving to White Bird in 1932. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge there.
Survivors include a son, Duane Goble of Albuquerque; two brothers, Melvin Eller of Sacremento and Wayne Eller of White Bird; a sister, Velma Reynolds of Spokane, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Maritta Eller.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Prairie View Cemetery at Grangeville with Bishop William Taylor of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. The body may be viewed at Noland Funeral Home at Grangeville from noon today until the Saturday service.
The family has requested memorials be made to the White Bird Emergency Medical Technician fund.
