RED WING -- A memorial service for Dale K. Nash will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with Rev. Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing.

Mr. Nash, 69, of Red Wing, died Thursday (Feb. 26, 2009) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Dale Kendall Nash was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Red Wing. He attended Red Wing Schools. He served eight years in the Army National Guard before working for Red Wing Shoe Co. for 42 years. On Jan. 8, 1966, he married Darlene "Dar" Haas at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. He was an avid fast-pitch softball pitcher who was proud of throwing a no-hitter during the state tournament. He enjoyed playing cards, throwing horseshoes, NASCAR, watching golf, hunting and fishing, and spending time with grandkids.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, David of Red Wing, Don (Theresa) of West Concord, and Dean Olson of Stafford, Va.; six grandchildren; two brothers, James (Kay) and Michael (Mary), both of Red Wing; a sister, Linda (Richard) Brunkhorst of Red Wing; sister-in-law, Muriel (Bill) Weber; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Anna (Westerberg) Nash; brothers, Larry, Leonard and Luke; sisters, Lila Plotte, Mae Johnson, Deloris Roth, Ardis Swisher, Gloria Townsend and Janet Nash.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home in Red Wing.

Memorials are preferred to the Red Wing Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
