THOMASVILLE Miriam R. "Becky" Plonk, 85, of Jackson Township, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late George J. Plonk, Jr.

Born January 2, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Paul and Grace E. (Miller) Beck, she worked as a welder during WWII for Frazier and Johnston in San Francisco, Calif.

Mrs. Plonk is survived by two daughters, Joyce M. Bollinger and Donna L. Plonk; four sons, William P. Plonk, George J. Plonk, III, John D. Plonk, and Steve R. Plonk; 16 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy K. Diehl.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs.
