John J. Barton, age 66 of Waterford died Fri., Feb. 27, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Father Leo Lulko officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday. Mr. Barton was born in Holly on March 15, 1942 the son of John Garth and Marian (Morgan) Barton. He was retired from GM after over 40 years of service. He was an avid model railroader and was a volunteer at Genesys Health Park. He is survived by his wife Diane; 4 children, Kelly (Steve Grover) Barton of New Zealand, John Scott (Kathryn) Barton of Ortonville, Kris (Mike) Elston of OH, and Kerry (Tom) Rancour of Waterford; known as Boompa to 9 grandchildren, Sam, Abigail, and Spencer Grover, Taylor and Morgan Barton, Mitchell and Jake Elston, and Charlie and Henry John Rancour; 2 brothers Robert (Vicki) Barton of Holly and Ronald (Jan) Barton of Mt. Pleasant; and his "boy" Spike.
