Cumberland,Maryland --- James Peter Morris, 82, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at his home.

Born Feb. 26, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Peter Michael Morris and Edna (DeVore) Morris. Mr. Morris was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Audrey Virginia Morris, on May 25, 2001; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Morris; a sister, Shirley Plummer; and a brother, Richard Morris.

A United States Naval veteran of World War II, Jim retired from Stroehman Bakery. He was a member of the Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W. and attended the Potomac Valley Revival Center.

Jim is survived by his son, David Morris and his wife Roz, of Bedford, Pa; his grandchildren, Krista Morris, Tony Morris, Devin Morris, Shaunna Baker, Chad Baker, Chrissy Stevens, James Stevens and Earl Emerick; his sisters, Mary Plummer, Delores Stottlemeyer and Ann Taylor; and his brother, Francis Morris.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Michael Stottlemeyer officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
