Chester Gibbs, the 11-year-old stepson of M. Shine, died Tuesday morning at the family home, near the race track. About a year ago the little fellow was badly injured by a wagon passing over his body, and subsequently he had an attack of typhoid fever. Apparently he had recovered from the disease, but the effect of the injuries and fever combined to weaken his system and make him an easy victim for the complication of fatal diseases that ensued. He was a noble and intelligent lad, whose presence was a blessing to the household. The family have much sympathy in their sorrow. The little body was laid away in the City Cemetery Wednesday afternoon.
