Joe Sylvester Barbour, Born November 7, 1922 in Pratt, Kansas to Anthnie Edward and Sarah Ursla "McGraw" Barbour.
He married Ruth Lucille Elloit on July 8, 1944 in Pratt; she was the daughter of Harrison Wesley and Georgia Mae "Tharp" Elliot. To this reunion was born four children; Ruth Ann, Charles Robert, Dennis Allan, and Stanley Eugene.
Joe was an engineer technician for Kansas Department of Transportation for 35 years, and had been a lifetime Pratt resident. Joe, 60, died January 2, 1983, at the Pratt Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
Survivors: widow, of the home; sons, Charles R., Baldwin Park, CA.; Dennis A., Duarte, CA.; Stanley E., Pratt, KS.; daughter, Ruth Ann Steiner, Duarte, CA.; sisters, Victoria Rose, May Corbet, both of Pratt. Interment was at the Turon Cemetery, Turon, Reno, Kansas. Memorials to American Heart Association in care of Ayers-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt, KS.
