Sarah Nuckols Amerine was born in Tennessee, near Maryville, in 1854, departed this life at her home in Reno county near Turon, Kansas, on Thursday June 20th, 1907. She was married to B.R. Amerine in Tennessee in 1873. Came to Kansas and settled on their home farm in 1873.
Mrs. Amerine was converted to Christ and united with the Baptist Church at the age of 16 and lived an admirable Christian life until her death.
Funeral services were held at the home June 21 conducted by Rev. S.G. Sloan and interment was made in Turon Cemetery.
The Amerine family has several friends and acquaintances in this county. Mr. Amerine is a nephew of A.J. Wells, a former resident of this city.
