He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Raymond L. and Lona Crump Wise, and was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wise.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Edward Jackson Wise of Lakeworth, Fla.; a daughter, Lisa Wise Rednour and husband, Rodney of Gastonia; two sisters, Lillian Curtis of Charlotte, Evelyn Lewis and husband John of Mount Holly; four grandchildren, Hillary Kate Wise, Shea Wise, Nicholas Rednour, Hailey Rednour and a great-grandchild, Payton Elliott.
Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Herman Winkler and Pastor Kevin Kellough will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Interment will be in Hillcrest Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
