Fred Wills was the first child of Edwin and Cora Haman Wills. He grew up on his parents dairy farm in San Marcos, Texas

On May 22, 1939 Fred married Mary Nell Mitchell in Marlin, Falls County, Texas. The couple lived in Valley Mills, Bosque County, Texas where Fred was a farmer and rancher.

After only two years of marriage and at the young age of 25, Fred Wills died on October 19, 1941. His tragic death was the result of his firearm discharging while he was on horseback. The accident occurred on October 12th and he passed away seven days later on the 19th.

Fred and Mary Nell had not had children. He was brought back to the Wills Family Plot in San Marcos to be buried.
