Mary Ada Treon Shoupp, 86, of Troy, died at 2:10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
Mary was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Darke County, to the late William and Alma J. (Pequignot) Treon.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked for WACO during World War II. Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.
In addition to her parents, Mary also is preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Waltemathe; and sisters, Kathleen Martin and Nellie J. Bothast.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert J. Shoupp, whom she married Dec. 28, 1978; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Doug Emmel of Troy; sons, Brad Martin of Covington and Chris Martin of Urbana; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond "Bud" and Martha Treon of Versailles, Bob and Doty Treon of Piqua and William "Bill" Treon of Versailles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, with the Rev. Fr. David Vincent and the Rev. Fr. James Duell as celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 9-10 a.m. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
