Daughter of J. W. and Mary Roberts, Lettia was married first to George Franklin Aldridge. They had seven children and after his death in 1901, she married widower Edward Porter Clark, and they had two sons. The following is a newspaper account of the accident causing her death.

Woman Killed, Son Injured at Crossing

WAXAHACHIE, Texas, July 21--
Mrs. Lettie Clark, 60 years old, was mortally injured, and her son, Floyd Clark, suffered a badly lacerated scalp when the automobile in which they were riding was struck by a passenger train at a crossing in the residence district of Waxahachie Wednesday. They were in route from Bardwell, near here, to the bedside of Mrs. Clark's daughter, Mrs. J. B.Boswell, ill at her home here, when the accident occurred.

Auto Struck by Train, Woman Dies of Injuries

ENNIS, Texas, July 22--
Mrs. Lettie Clark of Bardwell, 60 years old, died in Waxahachie Sanitarium Wednesday from injuries received when her car was struck by a Houston and Texas Central passenger train at the Kaufman street crossing in Waxahachie Wednesday morning. Her son, Floyd Clark, was slightly injured. Conductor J. P. Montgomery and engineer Harry Hickox of Ennis were in charge of the train."
