On March 30, 1944, Susan married another Pomeroy native, Joseph McGrath. They were married at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pomeroy.
Joseph served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Unfortunately, there are no census records available yet for 1940 and 1950, so we don't know what Susan was doing during the war. Was she working or was she a housewife? If anyone knows, please let me know!
Her husband passed away in 2003. Susan died three and a half years later on January 25, 2007. She passed away at the Sycamore Glen Adult Care Home in Clarkston, Washington.
Susan's husband was buried in Pomeroy City Cemetery. It was thought that Susan was also buried there. Now, it's unclear. A Find a Grave volunteer checked and double checked the cemtery in May, 2009. They stated, "The cemetery records located at the cemetery do not list this person. It is possible that she is buried in the Pomeroy Cemetery but the records have not been updated yet. If she is buried near Joseph McGrath there is a possibility that her grave is unmarked since his is unmarked."
