Mr. Kelley was born in Meriwether County on January 7, 1888 and was the son of the late Emma Bowen Kelley and Lewis D. Kelley.
He had been a citizen of Manchester for the past sixteen years and was engaged in farming and was formerly employed by the city. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and the Retired Citizens Club.
Funeral Services were conducted from Macedonia Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 25 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. C. B. Love Pastor of Macedonia Baptist officiating and was assisted by Rev Hershell Turner, former Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church served as pallbearers and members of the Retired Citizens Club were Honorary bearers.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Marshall Kelley, Manchester; one daughter, Mrs. B. W. Pasley, Manchester; one son, Mr. Perry Kelley, of Thomaston; four sisters, Mrs. Alton Oglesby, Molena, Mrs. Ruth Dukes, Molena, Mrs. Walter Connell, Williamson, and Mrs. Lonnie Estes, Gainsville; three brothers, Mr. Harvey Kelley, Greenville, Mr. Claude Kelley, Greenville, and Mr. J. B. Kelley, Molena; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery at Concord.
Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
