James Arlie Green, 66, of Gosnell, died early Monday morning at Great River Medical Center. He was a former longtime employee of the city of Blytheville.
Mr. Green was known by his friends and family as a jokester and a comedian, and was famous for his singing and guitar playing. He was especially fond of Conway Twitty and his songs. He was a good cook, he enjoyed fishing, and he loved his family, children and his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father: Hubert Columbus Green: one daughter; Sandra Thomas: and two brothers: Tommy Green and Billy Tom Green.
He is survived by his wife: Connie Goodman Green;
Three daughters: Nina Binkard (Terry), Connie Farrow (Ira, Sr.) and
Renae Foreman (Gerald);
Two sons: Kenny Green and William Arlie Green (Suzanne);
His mother, Clarice Bell Green;
Thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren;
Three sisters: Barbara Gray, Wilma Byrd, and Tammy Quack; and
Seven brothers: Elmer Green, Bobby Green, Roy Green, Leon Green, Denny Green, Timmy Green, and Ronnie Green.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Carney Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Warman officiating.
