BAXTER -- Funeral services for Cleo Harris Holmes, 78, will be held at 1
p.m. on Wed., Aug. 11, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Stewart Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Tues., Aug. 10, at the
funeral home.
Mrs. Holmes died today, Mon., Aug. 9, 1999, at Standing Stone Health Care
Center.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1920, in Putnam County to the late Riley and
Virgie Stewart Harris. Mrs. Holmes was a homemaker and a member of Baxter
First Church of God.
Her family includes two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debbie Holmes
of Cookeville and Danny and Mary Holmes of Baxter; three sisters, Mae
Mitchell of Boma, Vestie Dyer of Baxter and Ojill Warren of Taylor, Mich.;
two grandchildren and spouses, Steve and Debbie Holmes and Chris and Maelena
Holmes; three stepgrandchildren, Robbie, Tony and Christie Young; and a
great-granddaughter, Jordan Brooke Holmes.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband,
Robert P. Holmes Sr.; a son, Jerry Dale Holmes; and a brother, John W.
Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Putnam
County Sheriff's office.
Revs. Troy Withers and Jim Holifield will officiate at the services.
