August Benjamin married Mary Muhn. Their license was issued on a Friday December 7 1877 in Lake County IL, Lic # 091M1579. They had six children, one child Benjamin died in 1900 and interred at the post cemetery . Now known as a " National" Cemetery since December 2019 when VA took control.
August immigrated to US in 1863 (1920 Census.)
He enlisted in the 7th U. S. Cavalry as a private on 16 January 1875. After Little Big Horn, Siefert was on leave for six months September, 1890 to his hometown of Darmstadt. (The Germans in the Seventh U.S. Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Bighorn by Dr. Albert Winkler 2013)

RESIDENCE: 1910 IL Census was a boarder in Highwood at 95 Jefferies Place
Listed as widower with 5 children(Florence, Raymond, Irene, Esther & Lloyd)

At his death he was a Highwood resident for 28 years.
