Former Casa Grande Mayor Albert Sidney (Pappy) Guinn died Sunday night at Hoemako Hospital. He was 76 years old.

During his ten years on the City Council (1957-1967), Mr. Guinn served three terms as mayor. He also served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission of Casa Grande and as a director of the Pinal County Health Department.

Services will be held at 2 p.m Wednesday (Feb. 14) in the Cole and Maud Mortuary Chapel, 215 South Washington St. Rev. James Dinkel of the Casa Grande United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Guinn was born March 23, 1896 in Winslow, Arkansas. He came to Arizona 35 years ago from Oklahoma and resided in Casa Grande for 30 years. A dispatcher and agent, he retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1967 after serving for 15 years. Prior to that time he worked for the Frisco Railroad from 1917 until 1938.

He was a charter member of the Casa Grande Valley Elks Lodge 1957 and a past president of the Casa Grande Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Casa Grande; his sons: Charles, of Coolidge and Dr. Hugh Guinn, of Casa Grande; his sisters, Mrs. Bess Hansbury, of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Maude Freeman, of Fort Smith, AR, Mrs Pearl Miller, of Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
