Allen, 86, St. Johns, died at 7:09 a.m., at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was a son of Clay and Carrie (Morris) Knoch. On Jun 22, 1944, he married Georgianna H. Bush, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Menneth W., Wapakoneta, and Scott A. (Roberta), St. Johns; a daughter, Michele (Michael) Hicks, St. Johns; eight brothers, Morris, Elida, Clay Jr., Bill (Audrey) and Rex (Sharon), all Uniopolis, Brooks (E. Jeanette), Ted (M. Jeanne), and Tom (Barb), all Wapakoneta, and Dick, St. Johns; two sisters, Georgia Lee and Lucille (Joe) Bell, all Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a sister, Glenna Horman.

He retired in 1972 as a steam engineer with the Lima Ordinance Depot. He then worked at the Neil Armstong Space Museum, and retired in 1986 from the Wapakoneta Manor. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Germany during WWII. He was a member of the St. John United Methodist Church and a 1940 graduate of Blume High School. A member of the St. Johns Fire & Rescue Squad, he served as fire chief from 1957 to 1959. He enjoyed woodworking.

Funeral services will be at the church, with Pastor Pamela A.K. Hanlon officiating.
