The announcement of Mrs. Condon's death is received with much sorrow by the people of Eugene. She was a noble woman and had the respect of all. She came to Oregon with her husband, the eminent geologist, Professor Thomas Condon of the University of Oregon. In 1852, coming by way of Cape Horn. They first located at The Dalles and a number of years both were teachers on the warm Springs Indiana reservation. They then moved to Forest Grove and came to Eugene in 1876 where they have since resided.

Besides her husband, the deceased lady leaves the following children who were all at her bedside at the time of her death except Mrs. Bean who is enroute from the east: Mrs. H. F. McCornack of Eugene; Mrs. R. S. Bean of Salem; Hon. S. W. Condon of Oakland, California; Herbert T. Condon of Moscow, Idaho; Mrs. Nolf of Pendleton.

The deceased lady had been spending the summer at Newport with her husband and had been ill a good portion of their stay there and had been suffering form typhoid fever for a number of weeks. She was a prominent worker in the Congregational Church, WCTU and the Fortnightly Club, being a lady of high literary attainments.

The remains will arrive in Eugene Tuesday for interment.
