Funeral services for Brenda Gail Hammonds of Cordele, will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rebecca. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Hammonds, 55, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Crisp County and was the daughter of the late Shirley Tifton and Myrtle Estelle Hammonds. She was a homemaker and a member of Third Street Baptist Church. Ms. Hamonds is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Nipper of Cordele; five nieces and nephews, Debbie Black of Lumberton, NC, Mike Hammonds and Billy Nipper, both of Cordele, Joy Hammonds of Bremerton, WA and Cathy Briceno of Texas; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Junior Hammonds, Dickie Hammonds and Estelle French. The family may be contacted at the residence of Betty Nipper at 428 Nappa Road - Cordele, GA.
