Howard Lee Flynn age 94 of Melrose, Florida passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Shands Hospital in Starke, Florida. Howard was the longest living member of Miller's Cove Missionary Baptist Church. He was formally from Walland, TN and moved to Melrose, FL 12 years ago, after spending winters there for many years with the Truman Perry Family. He worked for Alcoa Aluminum Company for 47 years and retired in 1977. He was a member of the 25 Year Club at ALCOA. He attended the senior men's Sunday School class at Eliam Baptist Church in Melrose, FL whom he dearly loved, and enjoyed gardening and raising Chinese honey oranges. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Susie Ogle Flynn. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Skip and Tina Flynn of Melrose, FL; two grandchildren, Janelle (Rick) Johnson and Justin (Chantel) Flynn; four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, Sarah and Sadie; former daughter-in-law, Juanita Howell Robertson; a lifetime of friends and the Truman Perry family. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM, Saturday with Rev. Raymond Young and Rev. R.M. Everett officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 5:00 PM, Saturday, at West Miller's Cove Missionary Baptist Church for the interment.
