Mr. John Engleman, Sr., passed away at his home here on Hustonville street at ten o'clock Tuesday night after an illness of several weeks. He had been in poor health for a number of years but had not been confined to his bed.
Mr. Engleman was one of the best known and highly respected citizens of this community and a member of the Christian church.
He leaves his wife, and two sons, John Engleman, of this city and James Engleman of Paris, and one daughter, Mrs. B. F. Rout of this city. He was 52 years old.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Thursday morning at ten o'clock by Rev. D. M. Walker, and the interment followed in the Buffalo Springs cemetery. The members of his Sunday School class were the pallbearers.

NOTE: A follow-up provided by Joyce Tinsley:
"His obit is ten days after he died. I guess it took that long for it to get to Lancaster for reprint. The Central Record for Dec 13th said his son was at his bedside. The Kentuckiana Digital Library doesn't have the Interior Journal issue that would have carried his obit. They only had one issue for Dec 1915 and that was before he died."
