Funeral services for Candace Beck, 65, of Laurel, will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 from New Hope United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, with Rev. Jody Smith officiating. Visitation will take place from 10 am. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 from New Hope United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
Following the funeral services, interment will take place at Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Born on Friday, Feb. 16, 1945, she was a native of Jones County. A school bus driver with the Wayne County School District, she died on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
She is survived by her husband, William Beck of Wayne County; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Vonda Beck of Wayne County, Roland Wade and Anna Beck of Clara and Byron and Regina Beck of Mandeville, La.; three brothers, Bobby Hendry, Andre Hendry, both of Wayne County, and Dick Hendry of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Olga Hendry of New Orleans, Kitty Kock of Gulf Shores, Diane Mozingo of Jones County and Gail Speed of the Beat Four Community; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jewel Hendry; her father, Elmer Hendry; a brother, Daniel Hendry; and a sister, Delorian Pope.
Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro is in charge of arrangements.
