Mr. Richard A. Beggs, 76 of Wilmington, DE passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003
Mr. Beggs was born in Wilmington on April 19, 1926 to the late Harry and Emma (Carson) Beggs. He served in the Seabees during World War II, and later earned an Accounting Degree from Goldey-Beacom College. He was employed by the City of Wilmington as an accountant, retiring after 21 years of service. Mr. Beggs had a great passion for golf and also enjoyed playing cards.
His wife of 45 years, Mary M. (Crusco) Beggs, passed away February 15, 1994. He was also predeceased by his brother, George Beggs. Mr. Beggs is survived by his daughters, Joanne M. Walker and Jayne L. Merlonghi; his grandchildren, Paul and Jorie Walker; and his sister, Delores McGinnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 4th St. & Bancroft Pkwy., on Monday morning, April 14 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME 2309 Lancaster Ave., Wilm. (Opp. Cathedral Cem.) on Monday morning from 9-10:30 am.
