Funeral services are set for Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the First Methodist Church with the pastor the Rev. Bruce Strother officiating. Interment will be in the Algood Cemetery.
A prominent Cookeville businessman, Mr. Wall had been active in civic affairs and in the business life of the country many years. He suffered from a heart condition but had carried on the usual duties of his office Tuesday. He became ill about 6:30 p.m. and died about two hours later.
He was a charter member of the Cookeville American Legion and a member of the Methodist Church. He was also a former Trustee of Putnam County and had served as manager of the local Employment office and as WPA director during the ealy thirties.
He had been interested in the development of natural gas and oil in this area for more than 25 years and at one time was in the coal business in Cookeville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Neta Williams Wall, three sons, Hammock, John and James Wall all of Cookeville; two daughters, Mrs. Anita Moore of Memphis and Mrs. Lula Bartholomew of Oak Ridge; one brother, Jeff Wall of Cookeville and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Wall Bartlett of Nashville, and Mrs. Johynnie Fisher of Arlington, VA; four gransons, Jack and David Wall of Cookeville and Frank and Marvin Douglas Moore of Memphis.
