SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Smith county man died this morning after he was accidentally run over by a tractor. It happened around 10:30am near Lavender Road. Smith County officials tell us Doyle Allen, 54, of Tyler was standing in front of a tractor that was in gear, trying to jump a dead battery, when it started and rolled over him, pinning him against a trailer. He was alone at the time of the accident and died on scene.
Services for Doyle Allen, 54, Tyler, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler. Burial will be in Center Cemetery. Mr. Allen died Feb. 24, 2009. He was born Jan. 17, 1955, in Tyler. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph on 2/26/2009
